The Football Association have charged Wigan Athletic boss Paul Jewell with improper conduct after he confronted referee Phil Dowd at Arsenal on Sunday.
Jewell was angered by Dowd’s refusal to award Wigan a penalty when Emile Heskey went down under Mathieu Flamini's challenge with the visitors leading 1-0.
Dowd further did not allow Josip Skoko back onto the pitch after he had received treatment for an injury, meaning the Australian remained on the sidelines as Fitz Hall scored the own goal which set Arsenal up for a comeback win.
An FA statement confirmed: "Wigan Athletic manager Paul Jewell has been charged with improper conduct for his behaviour towards referee Phil Dowd following the final whistle of the match at Arsenal on Sunday, February 11.
